This morning I stood on the pier and watched all the surfers waiting in the water for the perfect wave to catch. They waited a long time, then tried one, and it passed over them. Next one guy tried again. Several guys had a few brief runs. Others sat on their boards in the water, relaxing, watching, and learning about the ocean; looking for the best wave of the day to try again. Apparently, surfers love this process.

Seems we do that with our life as well. We wait, and dream, and learn and plan what we want to do next. Sometimes we don’t catch the best wave. Sometimes we get a pandemic to mess up our plans. But we haven’t let even a pandemic mess up our futures. We are all moving forward with life.
So let’s learn that waiting is ok at times. But, also given our human spirits, let’s follow the theme in the movie “Newsies”. Christian Bale sang the words “Seize the Day”. Be courageous. Push through the day to make memories for which you will be grateful.
This is #gratitudezero. See the post on February 28, 2021 for definitions of gratitude categories.
