About Gratitude Squared

I’m Mary and write on my blog, Gratitude Squared. I prefer creativity with artistry sprinkled with bits of philosophy, previously a university scholar, compassionate for others, and deeply involved in advocacy and inclusion for human rights for people with disabilities. In 2017, I was diagnosed with a serious illness and prepared to die. However, nearly five years later I am very alive and extremely grateful to see life’s joys daily. Even with a recurrence in 2022, I love sharing aspirational and inspirational messages, and want to help you find your own gratitude. Thank you for going along this journey.

Events That Make The World Go Round – Story of Carmen Tarleton (Audio)

On February 22, 2021 I learned the story of #CarmenTarleton when watching the #TodayShow. It was a terrible story of domestic abuse and survival. This post is an example of #gratitudelite according to my categories posted on February 28, 2021 titled, Your Choice: Gratitude Zero, Gratitude Lite, or Gratitude Ultra.

This posting is an audio version of the earlier post for persons who prefer to listen rather than read posts. It is a perfect example of how one individual may find #gratitude even in the midst of unspeakable experiences.

Your Choice: Gratitude Zero, Gratitude Lite, or Gratitude Ultra (Audio)

After 32 posts on #gratitude I developed this classification system to assist us in understanding different types of #gratitude. On February 28, 2021 I posted the narrative titled, Your Choice: Gratitude Zero, Gratitude Lite, or Gratitude Ultra. To date, there are now well over 60 posts and I now label each topic posted for ease of understanding each type of gratitude. I hope this will be helpful to all as we continue our journey and follow our pathways to joy and fulfillment. On March 9, 2021, I posted an organizational Model within GratitudeSquared.com to label all of the posts to date. Henceforth, I will tag the type of gratitude within each posting. For example, this post is tagged as #gratitudeultra.

There is no better or lesser type of gratitude, just more momentary or sporadic, versus deeper and more emotionally long lasting forms of gratitude.

For individuals who prefer to listen to posts, or who prefer to experience posting through sight and sound, I offer this audio version of the three categories of gratitude: #gratitudezero, #gratitudelite, or #gratitudeultra.

Each and every day it is always your choice to find your #joy.

Our Gratitude Stream (Audio)

On February 7, 2021 I first posted a narrative on the source of my own gratitude stream based on my Mother’s teachings and parenting of me. This is a topic that is #gratitudeultra according to the categories I described in my posting on February 28, 2021 titled, “Your Choice: Gratitude Zero, Gratitude Lite, or Gratitude Ultra.

I read the posting to several individuals who did not read because of various disabling conditions and they seemed to value the messages for #gratitude from this audio version. Please enjoy listening to how gratitude is derived from your #moralvirtue, based on the teachings of values, beliefs, and ideals molding your own character as you move toward adulthood. Some of these values are taken directly from my mother’s poetry which was published in a book, A House Inside of Me Poetry by Marian Elsie Blake by Mary Blake Huer, available on Amazon.com.
